Overview
Friends of Pinery Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of Pinery Provincial Park. We are currently seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time General Manager. Working in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Pinery Park leadership, this position will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects of our organization, including fundraising, events, grants, and financial management.

Responsibilities

1. Fundraising:

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the organization’s goals.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Organize and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.

2. Event Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events that align with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and committee members to ensure successful event execution.
  • Evaluate and analyze event outcomes for continuous improvement.

3. Grant Management:

  • Research, identify, and apply for relevant grants to secure funding for projects and initiatives.
  • Manage the grant application process, including proposal writing and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, deadlines, and outcomes.

4. Board of Directors Communication:

  • Maintain open and transparent communication with the Board of Directors.
  • Provide regular updates on organizational activities, financial status, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement organizational policies and strategies.

5. Community Engagement:

  • Foster positive relationships with the community, park visitors, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at public events and engage in community outreach.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and coordinate their involvement in various projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fundraising, event planning, and grants management within a non-profit setting.
  • Experience with general bookkeeping, payroll and budgeting principles.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and team-members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic financial management tools.

Schedule and Compensation

This is a part-time position with flexible hours, requiring approximately 15 hours per week.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
