Nature Store
We operate the Friends of Pinery Park Nature Store in the Visitor Centre with volunteers on weekends from September to June. Shifts are half days. A commitment of a least two shifts a month is recommended.
Recycling – Starting Mid May until the weekend after Thanksgiving
We started a new fundraising initiative in 2017 collecting returnable beer, wine and liquor bottles from the campgrounds. This has been very successful due to the dedication of a small group of volunteers. The project can be expanded but more volunteers are needed. Bottle collection and sorting are done throughout the busy season on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
Pinery Fall Classic
The Pinery Fall Classic (Road Race) is always held the Sunday following Thanksgiving weekend. We need volunteers to work both inside on registration and race packet handouts and outside on the race course and trail run course, marshalls, water tables etc. A fun, active day with everything wrapped up and done by noon.
Halloween Weekend – Activity
We need lots of volunteers to help the kids. This takes place on the Saturday before the Halloween weekend in the Visitor Centre and requires a commitment of 3-4 hours. This is a very popular activity and you will be very busy.

Dune Grass
We dig dune grass to fill orders in November after the first frost. Hard to pin down the day because of the necessity to wait for a hard frost. This would be a commitment for the one day, usually only a couple of hours but it depends on the orders that need to be filled.

Raffle Ticket Sales
We set up raffle ticket sales table in and around the park during the summer. We need volunteers to help man the table.

Our current committees are Communications, Events, Grants and Recycling. We are always looking for engaged individuals to join our committees. Each committee meets once a monthly either by zoom or in person. Contact to learn more or to join!
